Music Notes…
Week 4

We’re at the far turn (forgive the racing analogy!), with some wonderful music still ahead. This weekend’s highlights include…

Joel Quarrington
Rossini: Eat, Hear and Be Merry
August 5, 6:00pm St. Mark’s Church

Juno award winning, and world-renown contrabassist Joel Quarrington brings an all-Rossini  program to St. Mark’s. Also featuring Carole Sirois, cello. Tickets to the show include a Rossini-inspired reception at intermission—Rossini himself was an avid gastronomist who created many of his own recipes. Concert introduction with James Wegg.

Jonathan Crow and Peter Chiu
Confederation Celebration
August 6, 4:00pm St. Mark’s Church

Jonathan Crow (violin) and Philip Chiu (piano) help celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial with a program of music from the Founding Fathers (Britain and France) along with Canada’s own Healey Willan. Also includes music by Debussy, Elgar and Ravel. Concert introduction with James Wegg.
