Cellist Jonathan Tortolano studied with Elsa Hilger, attended the New England Conservatory of Music and has degrees from Oberlin College and the Cleveland Institute of Music. He also studied with William Pleeth and Janos Starker (Centre d’Arts Orford). Recent performances include the Sunflower Music Festival, Vermont Mozart Festival, Musical Concerts of Ponce, Puerto Rico and an invitation to play at Chateau d’Ainay-le-Veil in France. He currently performs with the Pittsburgh Opera, the Washington Concert Opera and is an extra cellist for the Cleveland Orchestra. Highlights include performing with The National Ballet of Canada, Orchestre Symphonique de Quebec and The Gulbenkian Orchestra. He is married to the Polish violinist, Janetta Wilczewska, and has a daughter, Fabia. Jonathan is on Faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
