TORONTO ALL-STAR BIG BAND:

A SWINGIN’ CHRISTMAS

Step back in time and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year Big Band style! Join us on December 13 at the elegant Ravine Estate Winery for a dazzling holiday concert presented by Music Niagara and sponsored by the Goettler Foundation.

This festive evening features swingin’ renditions of seasonal classics and timeless hits from the Golden Age of Swing—a vibrant era when big bands ruled the stage and holiday specials lit up black-and-white television screens across North America.

Fashioned in the nostalgic spirit of a traditional “Christmas Special,” this heartwarming revue blends high-energy performances with a touch of vintage charm. Expect rich brass, velvety vocals, and toe-tapping arrangements that will both rekindle cherished memories and spark new holiday traditions.

This genuine time capsule concert promises a refreshing departure from the usual holiday fare—and a perfect way to swing into the season with family and friends.

LARK ASCENDING: A REMEMBRANCE DAY CONCERT

On Monday, November 11th, following the ceremony at the cenotaph, Music Niagara invites you to gather at St. Mark’s Church for a moving afternoon of reflection and remembrance.

The concert will feature Ralph Vaughan Williams’ beloved Lark Ascending, alongside special performances by Music Niagara’s own Colin Maier (multi-instrumentalist) and Loris Isabettini (vocals and narration). The program will also include poignant memoir readings, offering moments of remembrance and tribute.

This concert is presented in partnership with St. Mark’s Church, with all proceeds going towards the Last Post Fund Indigenous Initiative, supporting Indigenous veterans across Canada.

Admission is free, with donations encouraged in support of the Last Post Fund. Warm hospitality will be offered with complimentary soup served in Addison Hall at 11:30 am, followed by the concert.

Join us as we come together in music, memory, and gratitude.

Thank-you from Music Niagara

Dear Friends of Music Niagara,

As we close our 27th Summer Festival in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, I want to extend heartfelt thanks to you – our loyal audience, generous sponsors, and dedicated volunteers—whose support made this season not only unforgettable, but a true celebration of community.

This season celebrated resilience, creativity, and joy – from the brilliance of our Young Virtuoso Series, to the powerful Glory to Ukraine, to the inspiring performance of Jeremiah Sparks with the Shaw Gospel Choir, and the ever-popular Pops Series that brought our community together.

We celebrated the second year under our new tent at Ironwood Cider House, enjoyed concerts at beautiful venues across town, and even welcomed local food trucks as part of our Pops Series experience.

This season also shone thanks to our amazing Volunteer Coordinator, Dianne Hall, and the countless volunteers who gave their time and energy. Music Niagara simply could not exist without you.

But most of all – it is you, our audience and sponsors, who make it possible for us to continue offering world-class performances in intimate and unique settings across Niagara-on-the-Lake. Thank you for your continued loyalty and support!

Looking ahead, we are excited to bring you new and innovative performances, including Arts Unbound, a special talent show for artists who live with a disability, in partnership with Community Living Grimsby, Lincoln, and West Lincoln.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, Artistic Director, and the entire Music Niagara team, thank you for sharing this season with us. Together, we are building not only seasons of music, but a lasting legacy of culture and community. We can’t wait to welcome you back very soon.

With gratitude,

The Academy is unique in its approach to music. Our young performers learn through experience. They participate in a full spectrum of the performance arts offered by professional artists and ensemble and alumni members of the Shaw Festival Theatre
