FOUNDER AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF MUSIC NIAGARA
Dear Music Niagara Friends and Supporters,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Music Niagara’s 28th Summer Festival.
In a world that has felt heavy with uncertainty, this season offers something uplifting—music that brings lightness, joy, and connection.
Following audience survey feedback from our new Strategic Plan, we are excited to introduce our Summer Jazz Series celebrating Women in Jazz (June 30 – July 3), featuring Alex Pangman, Heather Bambrick and Friends from Broadsway, and the Toronto All-Star Big Band (Swing Sisters of Song). The band also returns on Civic Monday for a special 30th Anniversary celebration.
Supporting young artists remains central to Music Niagara. Our Young Virtuoso Series begins with a pre-season performance by the Toronto Children’s Chorus, followed by our Season Opener on June 14 featuring the debut of soprano Liepa Spakauskas, alongside young violin virtuosos. These concerts are at $19, as accessibility remains very important to us.
This season also reflects my Lithuanian heritage with Victor Paukstelis, the FortVio Piano Trio, and the Lithuanian Boys’ Choir Dagilėlis, alongside our annual Glory to Ukraine concert with Solomiya Ivakhiv.
We are honoured to welcome back the Three-Time JUNO Award-winning Gryphon Trio, and to close the festival with our Pops Series, featuring Quartetto Gelato, Club Django Toronto, and the Great Canadian Dueling Pianos.
As always, we hope to offer something for everyone at the Music Niagara Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake. I sincerely thank our audiences, supporters, and dedicated volunteers—your continued support and love of music make this festival possible, and I look forward to welcoming you this summer.
