Performance Academy Presents: Emma Meinrenken in Recital

Violinist Emma Meinrenken, 24, is a Master of Music student at the Yale School of Music, under the tutelage of Augustin Hadelich. She has a B.M. from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Ida Kavafian. Upon graduating from Curtis, she was awarded the Milka Violin Artist Prize. She is the 2023 recipient of Yale’s Presser Foundation Graduate Award and a Sylva Gelber Foundation Award, and other prizes include 1st place at the Stradivarius International Violin Competition and the Prix Ravel at the Ecole d’Art Américaines de Fontainebleau. She has performed in festivals such as the NUME Festival in Italy, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, the Verbier Festival, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and the Four Seasons Winter Workshop. Meinrenken debuted with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 2011, and has since performed with orchestras across North America and Europe. She often collaborates with composers, giving the premiere of a piece by Fred Lerdahl at Carnegie Hall in 2018. She plays on a 1687 Gioffredo Cappa violin.
