Philippine Madrigal Singers

The Manado State University Choir has had to cancel their performance on June 26. However, we are thrilled to announce that we have arranged an exceptional replacement- The Philippine Madrigal Singers –  for the same date, time, and location!

TICKETS NOW ONLY $20 – AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR AS WELL

Recognized by UNESCO as Artists for Peace for their efforts in promoting cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and a culture of peace, the Philippine Madrigal Singers stand as one of the most awarded choral groups globally. Their accolades include winning all top prizes in the world’s prestigious choral competitions, such as the Grand Prix at the 2016 Concurso Internazionale di Guido d’Arezzo in Arezzo, Italy. They are the first choir to win the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing twice (1997 and 2007) and the first Asian choir to receive the BrandLaureate Premiere Award by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (2012).

The group’s remarkable virtuosity across a vast repertoire, their commitment to promoting Filipino choral works, and the profound emotional impact of their performances have cemented their reputation as a pioneering force in choral music. Performing in their distinctive setup of sitting in a semi-circle without a conductor, they inspire audiences worldwide. Founded in 1963 by National Artist for Music Professor Andrea O. Veneracion, the UP Madrigal Singers are now under the direction of Mark Anthony Carpio. They continue to demonstrate that choral music can be socially relevant and transformational, nurturing future generations of conductors and choral singers globally.
